the south. there's heavier weather towards tennessee and through the tennessee valley and it's not a big deal. aid weak area of low pressure and that will slleigh and down charleston and not going to be a big deal. temperatures, though, that's going to be a bigger deal. 35 right now in baltimore. going towards raleigh at 46 degrees. but look how cold it is in international falls. 14 below zero and that's the cold air on top of chicago today and will be on top of baltimoreinto tomorrow and that's the blast of arctic air that comes in. and you will know it's around because of how cold it feels. clouds will be in here across much of the area. clouds shifting towards the south and mostly sunny skies going into your day on wednesday. but again ineffective sunshine temperatures will foal like they are into the 20s and low 30s. so it's 42 today, mainly cloudy skies the call from maryland's most accurate weather team and chilly. tonight, around 27 degrees and watch the seven-day forecast. look how chilly it gets. wednesday at 37 but we will lock in the cold air for thursday. 34, friday 36 and th

people are waking up to in parts of tennessee. this is a hood of a car. this is all-ice. a quarter-inch of ice. i'm going to show you what's happ happening. some of the freezing rain and freezing advisories. southern kentucky. you see it spreading into virginia and north carolina today. to the north of it, it's all-snow, even for an area that hasn't had a lot of that. chicago, talking about you. and let's go back and show how much you can expect out of this. the amounts that will come out of it. icing for the southern appalachians, nashville, asheville, included. cincinnati in the snow area. three to six inches. some of the higher elevations getting more. and there's cold air to keep it in place. 3 in bradford and pittsburgh. and at saranac lake, 24 below. >> oh. thanks for that, i guess. >>> we have big news on the economy, also from the white house. the stock market is now as high as it was before the recession, approaching new records. all good news for your 401(k). and that comes as president obama fills out his economic team for the second term. let's get more on that from abc

. a jogger has been hit on route 40 in cecil county. we know the driver stayed o' tennessee scene. route 40 is closed in that area . >> nouz to a breaking news update, for the second night in a row, police have shot a man in baltimore city. jeff hager is back from the scene, jeff tell us what happened an anticrime niche tif ended in a shout out between officers and an armed man. police say a squad car quipped we license plate reader was patrolling trying to identify suspect cars when the officers heard gun fire. they spotted a man coming toward their car with a gun in his hand when a second round of shots began. >> immediately the gun exchanged gun fire. fortunatelyfor us, the officers are fine. the male was struck several times in the upper body and is in the hospital. >> police say a series of robberies and another shooting is what caused them to increase patrols in that areament the increased presence also led to last night's confrontation and shooting. new tonight, a by by is dead and her mother in critical condition. we havejust learned the mother is charged with the child's death.

indianapolis today, we are dealing with some storm damage and today neigho -- tornado damage in tennessee. this is the line that you can see the boeing line. that means that you're getting some convective wind. so windy conditions across the area but also some tornado warnings now. several just to the east of mashville. so just know that this line is marching towards us as we go through time. right now, though, we are dry. we are dealing with lots of fog out there. mild conditions that temperature coming in at 55 degrees right now in west friendship. and as we go throughout the day, temperatures will soar 64 but i am forecasting a high around 68. if we get a little sunshine we could see 70 across the area. the calm before the storm as it begins to move our way. let's check the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. fog is a problem across the reg unlet expect reduced advice -- region. expect reduced visibility. 95 at mountain road, everything is moving along. you won't have trouble traveling down to white marsh and from there into the city. as we

this evening. but we see what's going on right now. and we are dropping lots of tornado warnings in tennessee this morning as well. so we will see what the national weather service has to do with it tomorrow after they survey the damage there. but this is marching off towards the east and we are going to be in the potential for flooding as we go later into the evening. as the strong line of storms will move through and we can see some of the yellows there. that's what will work its way in there as we go around 8 into the overnighttime frame be prepared for that. all this is courtesy of the cold front that's going to move through. and behind the cold front we will be dealing with much colder air. so mild today with a high close to 68. get sunshine in here and we will be seeing the 70s. we look outside right now and we can see the clouds but we can see a few peeks of some light out there. so we will see how this turns out as we go throughout the day. but in terms of temperatures, this morning, quite mild. look at the 51 in ellicott sety. manchester at 53. monrovia close to 60. so you know what
